If you were hoping to get your hands on iOS 8 after Tuesday’s media event you will be disappointed.

Here is what you can expect:

Apple normally gives developers one final week to test their apps and get them ready for the public release of iOS software. This software is called the “Golden Master” and is the exact software the public will receive.

The Golden Master of iOS 8 hasn’t been given to developer but we are sure they will receive it today (9 September) after the media event.

This means the iOS 8 will be released to the public on the 17 September 2014. Apple software normally gets release in the morning in the United States. In South Africa that means it should start appearing about 4pm on Wednesday 17 September.

You may not get notified that software is available so you might have to check manually by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
