Vodacom have opened pre-order on their website for the iPhone 5.
Vodacom has only opened pre-orders for the iPhone 5 16GB Black. We are not sure if this is because they have limited stock available or if they are only releasing this model because it is the most popular.

Don't think the black is going to be very popular. The new aluminium casing is easily scratched and scuffed. Not a pretty picture! I've always been a fan of the white – hope it comes out soon!

We agree with you Jae. Most people however don't think it is an issue. It's fine, more for us!

Vodacom Pre-order submission page not working! "Unfortunately we are having technical issues on this page and are working to resolve these as soon as possible. Please try again later." Really frustrated!!

We had the same issue but tried a few minutes later and it worked!

Their page says the 16GB Black is only available for upgrade. So they mean I can't get the 64GB upgraded on my contract? Or is it just while the pre-orders are going out?

Please let us know if you find any info on when the White version will be out. Thanks 🙂

Any idea on how much the 16GB phone actually costs – I have a claim waiting with Vodasure and wondering how much I will have to pay in.

You have to get it on an Iphone Talk 240 Contract.
R595 for 240 anytime minutes and you get 500mb data and 100sms.
I think this is the best deal.

You need to recheck those prices. There are quite a few options. Look at the iPhone Talk 240, where you get the iphone for free and only end up paying R595 a month.

Anyone know why Vodacom have removed the "upgrade" option from the iPhone 5 pre-order page?
Willie · December 8, 2012 at 11:57 am
I placed my pre order with Vodacom yesterday morning. There was a whole bunch of options to choose from, including upgrade or new contract. Vodacom just phoned me and did my upgrade over the phone. They claim to deliver my iphone 5 to my door a couple of days after the launch on the 14th od Dec

Has anyone else been contacted by Vodacom to confirm their pre-order? I filled in the form at 8h45 on Friday, and haven't heard since.
